Colombian Huila Pitalito on Sale

Colombia is the second largest producer of coffee in the world and the largest producer of washed and Arabica coffee. They are well known for their high quality coffee and about half of their exports come to the United States. Colombia exports approximately 12.5 million bags and internal consumption is about 2 million bags annually.

Colombia only produces washed Arabica coffee. There are three primary varieties grown in Colombia and the coffee is referred to by the region in which it is grown. There are many coffee producing regions in the country. Colombia is proficient in producing an abundance of truly delicious and sought after coffee.

This coffee comes from the small town of Pitalito, which lies in southern Huila in the Valley of Laboyos. This southern area of Colombia is at the foot of the Andes mountains. This massive mountain range is the birthplace of the Magdalena River, which travels north all the way to the Caribbean coast.

The valley itself lies at about 1,300 meters above sea level. All the surrounding mountains grow coffee with the average farm having about 6 hectares and about 5,000 trees per hectare. The soil is volcanic, providing lots of organic nutrients for this high altitude coffee.

The Trinity ONE concept was dreamed up 3 years ago by founder, Mark Folker, who made his entry into specialty coffee coming from a background in the seemingly familiar and parallel specialty wine scene.

The product-to-prototype journey after Kickstarter has been frantic and intense. While still working full-time and supporting his family, Mark is working tirelessly around the clock in order to advance his prototype into a product between trips to his factory. Throughout the process, the highest priority has been to fulfil the orders of his Kickstarter, distributor and pre-order customers all over the world - the ones ultimately who are credited for bringing the product into the market for the very first time.

Two models available-SR 500 and SR 700

SR 500

This is a great introductory home roasting appliance for those just starting home roasting.

The Fresh Roast SR500 has the same capacity ( 4 scoops , 120 gm) and features of the SR300 —plus three temperature settings that can be adjusted any time during the roasting process. High temp. = 490 degrees Medium temp. = 455 degrees Low temp. = 390 degrees A Fan Speed Control has been added that allows the finest tuning of the roast. The Fan Speed Control allows adjustments of + or – 10%. Starting the roast, the beans are at their heaviest, the fan speed can be turned up to keep the beans fluid and give an even roast. As the beans become lighter, the fan speed can be turned down and keep the beans from chipping.

SR 700

This is the newest addition to the SR family of coffee roasters, the SR 700. The SR 700 is an improved design over the SR 500. The SR 700 still roast the same quantity as the SR 500 and SR 300. With the fully programmable computer software, you will now be able to save and duplicate roast profiles for all preferences of coffee. It’s an easy plug and play system, use the provided sync cord and program. You will now be able to adjust time, temperature, and fan speed at any point during the roast and save your changes, to be used again. The software allows you to make changes to the roast profile, even after the roast has completed for a later roast.
